Daniel Shugar

Chief Executive Officer

Daniel Shugar has spent over twenty years advancing the renewable energy industry, most recently as president of SunPower Corporation, Systems. Prior, during his tenure as president of PowerLight, Mr. Shugar oversaw revenue growth from less than $1 million to over $800 million and was responsible for the completion of approximately 500 projects serving commercial, industrial, and utility clients worldwide. Mr. Shugar has invented various PV system applications, holds multiple U.S. patents and has published over 50 technical papers. Mr. Shugar holds a BS in electrical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and MBA from Golden Gate University.

Suvi Sharma

President

Suvi Sharma is an experienced entrepreneur with over ten years of experience successfully leading start-up ventures. Mr. Sharma joined Solaria in 2003 and recruited a world-class management team and raised $77 million from leading global investors. Before joining Solaria, Mr. Sharma founded Ivus Inc., an India-U.S. IT service company, raising over $10 million in funding and growing the company to over 150 employees. Prior to that, he was the youngest venture capitalist at Geocapital Partners, a $500 million international private equity firm. Mr. Sharma is a graduate of Northwestern University.

Kevin Gibson

Chief Technology Officer

Kevin Gibson has over twenty years of experience as an innovator in semiconductor packaging, polymers, and automation. Before joining Solaria, Mr. Gibson was Director of Global Operations for Emerson Electric, a multibillion-dollar industrial and consumer products company where he developed technology solutions that lowered manufacturing costs and dramatically improved gross margin profits. Mr. Gibson holds a BS in Electrical Engineering and an MBA from Cornell University.

Robert Zapotosky, Abhay Maheshwari, and Stri Zulch

Robert Zapotosky

Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Zapotosky has over 28 years of finance experience in a variety of both large multi-billion dollar manufacturing companies and small venture-backed start-up companies. His responsibilities include venture equity financings, debt financings, and operational activities.  Mr. Zapotosky has extensive experience in high volume manufacturing, most recently with his tenure at Flextronics. Previous roles  in the energy sector include Ultra Cell, a fuel cell company and Electronic Lighting Inc., a networkable energy efficiency lighting system for load management. Mr. Zapotosky holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Bowling Green State University, Ohio.

Marco Garcia

Chief Commercial Officer

Mr. Garcia has over 20 years of sales management and international business development experience.  Mr. Garcia  has extensive experience in solar PV project development and PV module sales, and developed and closed over 250 MW of PV projects in the U.S. and Europe, including some of the world’s largest PV systems.  Mr. Garcia’s tenure in the solar industry include sales leadership positions at PowerLight, SunPower, Suntech and Suniva, where, as CCO, he spearheaded the shift in their sales growth from high efficiency cells to Suniva branded high efficiency modules. Mr. Garcia holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and B.S. in Economics from Brown University.

 

Abhay Maheshwari

Senior Vice President, Engineering and Operations

Abhay Maheshwari has 12 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, with five U.S. patents in semiconductor assembly and packaging. Before Solaria, he was at Xilinx, leading key technology developments in flip-chip package and substrates. At Xilinx he was also closely involved with worldwide customer base in terms of managing customer quality and product issues. He was responsible for advanced package engineering and process development at LSI Logic and in the area of system miniaturization in Texas Instruments. He holds a Ph.D. in Materials Science from UCLA, an M.B.A. from Pepperdine University, and an engineering degree from the Indian Institute of Technology.

Stri Zulch, David Hochschild, Melissa Zucker

Stri Zulch

Vice President, Marketing

Stri Zulch brings to Solaria a wealth of experience in marketing, branding, and communications in solar, technology, and consumer products. Prior to Solaria, Ms. Zulch led marketing at Fotowatio Renewable Ventures, a global solar independent power producer. As VP Marketing at PowerLight, she helped transform the company from niche solar player to major commercial success. Ms. Zulch also held marketing roles at iconic brands Apple and Jacuzzi, where she led brand management and demand generation, as well as agency experience at Euro RSCG and Chiat/Day, where she lead campaigns for Sony VIAO, Siebel Sales and Intel Networking. Ms. Zulch holds a B.A. in French and a B.A. in International Relations, both from the University of California, Berkeley.

Tyroan Hardy

Vice President,Customer Applications

Mr. Hardy has over twelve years of expertise in large scale solar power projects construction. Mr. Hardy was at the forefront of the solar industry as one of the first to manage large commercial and utility scale projects, driving the development of today’s leading solar products. As Director of Construction at PowerLight, Mr. Hardy managed the installation of over 160 photovoltaic projects totaling more than 100 MWs, and developed proposal and design estimating processes for bankable commercial and utility-scale projects. At SunPower as Director of Project Cost Reductions, he generated over $40 billion (10GW) of proposals. Mr. Hardy began his career at Noresco, an energy services company. Mr. Hardy holds an Energy Management & Design certificate from Sonoma State University, and a B.A. from San Francisco State University.

Melissa Zucker

Vice President, Human Resources

Melissa Zucker has over thirteen years of experience in the solar industry, developing and implementing successful global staffing and strategic human resources plans for companies that have produced and installed more than 200 megawatts of solar power. Prior to joining Solaria, Ms. Zucker was Senior Manager of Human Resources at SunPower Corporation and Director of Human Resources at PowerLight Corporation. She is a graduate of Smith College and is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources.

Bruce Dickinson

Vice President, Sales

Bruce Dickinson has over thirty years of renewable energy and energy efficiency system sales and technical services experience. Before Solaria, Mr. Dickinson was Director of Business Development at Chevron Energy Solutions since 2003 in San Francisco where he led a team that was responsible for renewable energy and energy efficiency sales in the commercial and public sectors. Previously he was responsible for sales at Viron Energy Services, Honeywell and led product development and sales at a leading energy services consulting and software company. Mr. Dickinson began his career at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory conducting energy efficiency and policy research. Mr. Dickinson holds a B.S. in Conservation of Natural Resources from the University of California, Berkeley.
